The Center for Advancement & Learning  ·  Last updated: February 20, 2026
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before enrolling in a program, purchasing a product, booking our facility, or registering for a workshop at The Center for Advancement & Learning ("The CAL," "we," "us," or "our"). By proceeding with any transaction or enrollment, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. General
The Center for Advancement & Learning is a workforce training and community education facility located at 1028 NE Main Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681. Our programs and services include a state-licensed Nurse Aide Training Program, community and professional workshops, facility rental, and digital educational products. These Terms apply to all services offered by The CAL, whether in-person or online.
2. Nurse Aide Training Program
Enrollment: Enrollment is confirmed upon receipt of a completed application, required documentation, and tuition payment or payment arrangement. Seats are limited and enrollment is not guaranteed until confirmed in writing by The CAL.
Eligibility: Students must be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or GED, provide a valid ID, and pass required background screening. Students must be free of communicable diseases and must not be listed on the SC nurse aide abuse registry.
Tuition & Fees: Full tuition is due prior to the start of class unless a payment plan is approved in writing. Scholarships or discounts (such as early enrollment pricing) are subject to deadlines and availability stated at the time of enrollment.
Refund Policy: Students who withdraw before the first day of class are entitled to a full refund minus any non-refundable administrative fees. After the program begins, refunds are prorated based on the percentage of instruction completed, in compliance with South Carolina Commission on Higher Education guidelines. No refunds will be issued after 60% of the program has been completed.
Attendance: Students are required to attend all scheduled class, lab, and clinical hours. Excessive absences may result in dismissal from the program without a refund.
Conduct: Students are expected to behave professionally at all times, including during clinical placements. The CAL reserves the right to dismiss any student for misconduct, dishonesty, or behavior that jeopardizes the safety of others.
Licensing: Completion of the program does not guarantee passage of the state competency exam or issuance of a CNA credential. Those are determined by the student's performance and the applicable state board.
3. Workshops & Events
Registration: Workshop seats are reserved upon completed registration and payment. Capacity is limited and seats are not held without payment.
Refunds: Refund requests submitted more than 7 days before the workshop date will receive a full refund. Requests submitted within 7 days are non-refundable but may be transferred to a future workshop at our discretion.
Cancellations: The CAL reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any workshop due to low enrollment, instructor unavailability, or unforeseen circumstances. Registered attendees will be notified and offered a full refund or transfer.
Third-party instructors: Some workshops are facilitated by independent instructors who rent the facility. The CAL is not responsible for the content, qualifications claimed, or outcomes of third-party workshops. Attendees register for third-party events at their own discretion.
4. Facility Rental
Booking: Facility rentals are confirmed upon receipt of payment and a signed rental agreement. All bookings are subject to availability.
Use of space: Renters are responsible for leaving the facility clean and undamaged. Any damage to the facility or equipment will be charged to the renter.
Prohibited activities: The facility may not be used for any illegal activity, unlicensed instruction requiring state approval, or events that are inconsistent with The CAL's mission and community standards.
Cancellations: Rental cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable.
Liability: The CAL is not responsible for injury, loss, or damage arising from renter activities. Renters assume full responsibility for their guests and activities during the rental period.
5. Digital Products
Delivery: Digital products (such as the Workshop Launch Bundle) are delivered electronically after payment is confirmed. You will receive access or download instructions via email.
No refunds: Due to the digital nature of these products, all sales are final. If you experience a technical issue accessing your purchase, please contact us and we will resolve it promptly.
Intellectual property: All digital products are the property of The Center for Advancement & Learning. You may use them for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Redistribution, resale, or reproduction without written permission is prohibited.
No guarantee of results: Digital educational products are intended to provide information and guidance. Results depend on the individual's effort and circumstances. The CAL makes no guarantee of specific income, outcomes, or success.
6. Payments
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By submitting payment, you authorize The CAL to charge the amount agreed upon for the selected product, program, or service. All prices are in U.S. dollars. The CAL reserves the right to update pricing at any time; changes will not affect confirmed enrollments or bookings.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The CAL shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services, programs, or products. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service at issue.
8. Photography & Media
The CAL may photograph or record events, workshops, and facility activities for marketing and educational purposes. By participating in on-site programs or events, you consent to being included in such media unless you notify us in writing beforehand.
